Lee’s Summit Kitchen + Laundry Room + Bathroom Remodel: Before & After Reveal

There’s nothing we love more than giving a hardworking Lee’s Summit home a fresh start. It’s extra fun when it involves a kitchen, laundry room, and powder bath all getting a glow-up at once. This amazing Lee’s Summit family was ready to update their finishes and bring in something brighter, cleaner, and much more “them.”

Together, we designed a warm, modern palette featuring two-tone custom cabinets, gorgeous Salinas White granite, fresh lighting, and refinished hardwood floors throughout. And yes… Sherwin-Williams Retreat absolutely steals the show with that green pop of wow.

Kitchen Overview – Before & After

We opened up this kitchen visually by introducing Benjamin Moore White Dove on the upper cabinets and SW Retreat on the base cabinets. Paired with the newly refinished wood floors and clean SW Shiitake wall color, the entire space immediately feels brighter, calmer, and far more functional. The Salinas White granite gives the perfect balance of warmth and movement.

Removing the light fixture over the sink and dropping the bar area down to counter height also helped visually open things up.

Cooking Zone – Before & After

It’s the power corner. It has to work hard, and clearly this kitchen had great bones. But the homeowners chief complaint was that it felt so dark. The original tile backsplash and ornate cabinet doors made the room feel busier than it really was. Now the custom flush shaker style doors, new appliances, updated lighting, and a clean white tile backsplash help the space breathe. The White Dove uppers and Retreat lowers bring in that timeless two-tone look our Lee’s Summit clients love. It feels so classy.

We say this so many times, but lighting makes a big difference. Not just the fixtures but the actual bulbs. Look what a difference the bulb color makes! Plus, the cabinetry and granite swallowed a lot of light in this part of the room. Now it’s a showpiece wall with custom cabinetry with glass, soft white backsplash tile, and that beautiful two-tone finish give it a fresh, cohesive look. And our clients love that their storage space way went up (literally 😜).

The new light above the dining table was customized to the perfect finish by Michelle at Creative Faux Effects - helping us match the brushed pewter finish of their cabinet hardware.

This Fridge/Pantry wall came with plenty of cabinetry, but the layout wasn’t truly supporting the homeowners. The shallow upper cabinets, and shorter than necessary cabinet height left the whole area feeling cramped and underutilized. It worked… but not well.

We reworked this entire wall with taller custom cabinetry in Benjamin Moore White Dove. It gave the refrigerator and pantry a much more intentional, built-in look, PLUS added much needed extra storage.

One of the biggest upgrades? We brought the cabinets forward above the fridge and pantry, eliminating the old recessed boxes. This not only makes those upper cabinets easier to reach, but also adds a surprising amount of extra storage. The kind you can actually use, not just stare at from a step stool.

Also, shout out to these wide base drawers, which now double as the perfect coffee nook. Complete with Salinas White granite and a clean white backsplash tile. The whole area feels brighter, more functional, and beautifully tailored to the family’s daily routines.

Laundry Room Before & After

The laundry room is right beside our client’s kitchen, which is so convenient. BUT, the layout wasn’t working, and the small, hard to reach upper cabinets didn’t offer much storage. The nearby countertop was more of a catch-all. After speaking with the family, we realized this space could be repurposed to get her more overflow kitchen storage. For the big things that just wouldn’t fit in their main cabinetry. And that catch-all space? It’s still there! Just hidden away in drawers.

We had a custom built cabinet installed, painted in SW Retreat, and added new patterned porcelain floor tile. We also switched the walls to SW Alabaster for a brighter feel. The new stacked washer/dryer setup gives the homeowners real storage they can actually use… Check out their very own appliance garage:

For this powder bath, the ornate vanity and mirror definitely had their moment. But, they made this petite bathroom feel extra small. It was time for a refresh. Now this tile flooring carries in from the laundry room. Their new furniture-style vanity, updated lighting, and walls painted in SW Retreat all together helped make this space feel brand new without losing its charm. This tiny room got a major personality upgrade.

Final Thoughts

This Lee’s Summit home is now lighter, brighter, and so much more functional. Most importantly, it reflects the homeowners perfectly. Custom cabinetry, thoughtful color choices, updated lighting, and strategic storage upgrades made each space feel intentional and inviting.

We hope you love it as much as we do!
